How to reach Retiro Park

The easiest way to reach Retiro Park is to ride the Metro to the aptly-named Retiro stop on the number 2 line (Red line). Signs point you to the park from within the station, and once above ground, you'll see the park’s fences across the large Calle de Alcalá.

Walk towards the gigantic Puerta de Alcalá, a spectacular stone archway (inset photo at left), and you'll see Retiro’s main gate just across the road.

Other entrances to the park are located along its entire periphery, so if you are anywhere nearby, just walk along the fences until you find a gate. Metro stops Atocha, Ibiza, and Príncipe de Vergara will all get you close to other corners of Retiro Park.
