The former Locanda Novo is now the Hotel Mezzo Pozzo, which is an annex of the Hotel Mignon (just across the street). It's in the sestiere or district of Cannaregio, near the eastern end of the Strada Nova (one of Venice's busiest shopping streets) and not too far from the Rialto Bridge.

The Mezzo Pozzo's nine rooms are up four flights of stairs, so it probably shouldn't be your first choice if you're unfit or traveling with a steamer trunk.

How to reach the Hotel Mezzo Pozzo (formerly the Locanda Novo):

Below, you'll find our directions for walking to the hotel from platform "A" at Fondamente Nove, which is used by Alilaguna Linea Blu airport boats. (Late at night, some Alilaguna Linea Arancio boats also stop at F. Nove.)

1. As you leave the pier, turn right and look immediately for a narrow street on your left: the Salizada dei Spechieri. Follow the street inland past the Gesuiti Church and through the Campo dei Gesuiti to a canal.

2. You'll see a bridge ahead of you. Cross the bridge and continue along the Salizada Seriman to the next canal.

3. At the canal, bear right slightly and cross the bridge. Continue down the Salizada L. Borgato.

4. Cross the next bridge and walk straight ahead on the Rio Terà SS. Apostoli.

5. When you reach a cross street, the Calle Larga dei Proverbi, turn right and then turn almost immediately into a tiny street on your left.

6. Look for the Calle dei Preti on your right. The Hotel Mezzo Pozzo is in the Calle dei Preti at no. 4529.
