LazzaroFrom: Venice Waterbus Stops San Lazarro is the public waterbus stop for San Lazzaro degli Armeni, a tiny Lagoon island near the Lido that is named after St. Lazarus, the patron saint of lepers.The island has been a monastery since the early 1700s. Today, several dozen Armenian monks, seminarians, and students live and work in a monastery that has a 150,000-volume library and more than 4,000 Armenian manuscripts.
