Burano

Burano is the only ACTV stop on the island of the same name, which is famous for its colorfully-painted houses and is home to the Museo del Merletto or Lace Museum.

Silvia Zanella, a licensed guide who was born and raised on the island, offers inexpensive Discover Burano walking tours in English and Italian.

Burano is in the northern reaches of the Venetian Lagoon, about 40 minutes by boat from Venice's Fondamente Nove vaporetto station. (See our article about a self-guided Lagoon Island Tour via public transportation.)

Burano ACTV station

The large, modern Burano waterbus station has an ACTV ticket booth and vending machine. It is served by:

ACTV Lines 9, 12, N public water buses (also Line 14 from spring through fall)

We aren't aware of any hotels on Burano, but Venissa--an upscale B&B with a Michelin-starred restaurant--is located on the neighboring island of Mazzorbo, which is connected to Burano by a footbridge and has its own Mazzorbo ACTV stop.
